Aurora 1030D TOC Analyzer

Experience two types of TOC analysis in one powerful instrument! Use the Aurora 1030D to analyze TOC through the proven heated persulfate wet oxidation technique or the high temperature combustion method. Both modes have distinct chamber features to ensure accurate and reliable results.

The Aurora 1030D TOC Analyzer is twice as efficient with its ability to analyze TOC by both the heated persulfate wet oxidation technique and high temperature combustion method. This allows for measurement of aqueous samples and other samples of a higher molecular weight all from one single instrument!

Heated Persulfate Wet Oxidation

The heated persulfate oxidation technique has been approved and adopted in numerous regulatory compliance methods, standards, and norms for water quality testing, including: Standard Method 5310C, USEPA 415.3, USP <643> / EU 2.2.44, ASTM D 4779 and 4839, USEPA-DBPR, USEPA-SPCC, ISO 8245, and EN 1484.

In wet oxidation mode the 1030D reaction chamber is thoroughly rinsed between analyses to eliminate residue from the previous sample. This ensures a low system background necessary for high sensitivity TOC measurements.

High Temperature Combustion

High temperature (680 °C) catalytic combustion is most effective for samples containing high molecular weight, difficult-to-oxidize organics (e.g.; humic acid) at levels > 500 ppb C. Our patented two chamber combustion tube of the 1030D contains a bed of quartz in the first chamber to protect platinum catalyst in the second chamber from deposition of non-combustible constituents. This design extends catalyst life, ensures consistent oxidation conditions, and reduces instrument maintenance costs.
